  • Head Instructor

Richard began his martial arts journey at just twelve years old, starting with Shotokan Karate before expanding into Kickboxing and Taekwondo. Alongside his martial arts training, he’s always embraced movement — from gymnastics and freerunning to swimming and athletics — shaping a well-rounded approach to fitness and performance.

With over 20 years of experience teaching sport and fitness, including 15 years dedicated to martial arts instruction, Richard has inspired countless students to discover their potential both on and off the mats.

He believes that qualities like confidence, discipline, and fitness aren’t prerequisites for training — they’re the results of it. This belief became a core principle behind ProActive Martial Arts.

Richard holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing and has earned multiple competition titles, including gold in the Kickboxers’ Showdown K1 under 70kg division, silver in the Mixed Style Open Form, and silver in Shotokan Karate Team Kata.

  • Instructor

Nathan began his martial arts journey in 2011, developing a strong foundation through years of consistent training and dedication. After mastering the basics, he continued to refine his skills through weekly private sessions with Mr. Jago, alongside regular club training — a commitment that spanned over a decade.

In 2015, Nathan achieved his first black belt, a milestone that marked not an end, but the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of excellence. When he and Richard founded ProActive Martial Arts, Nathan channelled his passion into teaching — helping students build confidence, discipline, and self-belief through movement and mindset.

Since then, he has continued to grow both as a martial artist and instructor, earning his 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2022 and then advancing to 3rd Degree Black Belt few years later. Nathan remains an integral force behind ProActive’s development, driving its modern approach and inspiring the next generation of martial artists.
